Teaching Beginning Reading
Two-day Workshop
Conducted by Arthur Academy Charter School Leadership Team, Portland, OR
This workshop is part of a federally funded charter school dissemination grant administered by the Oregon Department of Education. It attempts to fulfill one aspect of the Oregon charter school law. The law encourages charter schools to share some aspect of their programs that may be applicable in other schools.
It is with this purpose in mind that the Arthur Academy Charter Schools have planned this workshop. Four of our schools are in Multnomah County, one is in St. Helens and one is in Woodburn. One of our most important goals at our schools is that “Everybody Reads”. To a large extend this goal is being met in the early grades in our charter schools.
